2020 Election

[The 2020 presidential election was crucially important. Before President Trump's election, I always had the utmost respect for the President, regardless of their political views. Trump was different and dangerous to our democracy. This blog exemplifies how I campaigned.]

I have never campaigned for a presidential candidate as hard as I am campaigning for Joe Biden. That is because I feel so strongly that we cannot have four more years of the Trump administration.

I identify myself as a moderate, fiscally-responsible disability advocate. Before Trump became president, I always had the highest regard and respect for the United States president. While I often vehemently disagreed with their policies, I always believed they thought they were doing their best for us.

On Wednesday, September 9th, northern California had a beautiful, dark-orange twilight. The fact that it lasted all day was a reminder of the urgency of doing something about climate change. That won't happen with the current administration.

The pandemic is showing us how important healthcare is and how dangerous and isolating institutional living can be. With the Biden-Harris administration, we have a chance to implement a health-care-for-all plan that includes long term community-based support services for all - regardless of income or assets.

I don't want our children to have a role-model that expresses racism, sexism, xenophobia, ableism, and a lack of civility.

For the last few decades, the disability community claimed that we are a significant voting bloc. Statistically, this is true. Few politicians have taken this seriously. The DNC Disability Coalition is endeavoring to change that. People with disabilities, their families, and friends are raising significant funds to prove that we are a political force. I am excited to invite you to a unique virtual event on October 1st, "Raise Every Voice." The event will feature leaders from our government, including Tammy Duckworth, and celebrity performers, including Tony Award-winning actress Ali Stroker, The O'Jays, José Andrés Montaño, with Mistress of Ceremonies, Melissa Gilbert. Please register at https://secure.joebiden.com/a/raise-every-voice?attr=102494814.

Please vote for Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and legislators who are able and willing to work together to govern for the good of everyone.
